Family Photo
Album (more of interest to my family than to Web surfers) My parents
loved the Riviera Golf Course and Country Club. I played in Rustic
Canyon collecting pollywogs and watercress from the "creek." There
were numerous Fourth of July baseball games in Rustic Canyon. "The
Riviera" hosted dance cotillions, where I also attended my first
prom (Paul Revere Junior High School, Ninth Grade Prom, May 1961).
Norma
Carter, circa 1942. Mom and Dad were avid golfers. When they
played the Riviera Country Club golf course in 1946, they
had found "golf heaven." They bought our home within two months.

"A
natural flair for marketing."

One
of the selling points of this home was the "outdoor" recreation/family
room, overlooking Rustic Canyon. It housed a huge BBQ/Fireplace,
covered Ping-Pong table area, dining area and wet bar. With
the nearly perfect weather (and few insects!) in Pacific Palisades,
they knew they'd entertain there constantly. Dad was quite proud
of his canyon view, streamline-styled "rec room" which had radiant
heat in the concrete slab floors (quite an innovation). |
